Complex Chronic Disease

If you are struggling with a complex chronic disease (CCD), you know how the wide array of
often debilitating symptoms can negatively impact your quality of life and ability to function. Many of these conditions are not diagnosable by standard laboratory tests, do not improve on
their own, and are inadequately managed in conventional settings. Individuals are often left
with limited answers and support.

CCD symptoms may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Malaise (generally feeling unwell)
  • Pain
  • Brain fog and memory problems
  • Sleep disturbance
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Hypersensitivity to light, sound, chemicals, foods, environmental exposures, and other
    intolerances
  • IBS, bloating, and other digestive symptoms
  • Depression and other mood disorders
  • Dizziness and lightheadedness
  • Cold hands and feet

CCDs include:

  • Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
  • Fibromyalgia (FM)
  • Chronic Lyme disease (CLD) and other tick/vector-borne infections
  • Mold/mycotoxin illness, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and histamine
    intolerance
  • Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and other joint hypermobility/connective tissue disorders
  • Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)

Identifying and treating the root cause:

In order to connect the dots and identify the underlying root causes of a CCD, a thorough
assessment is required as no two cases are identical. This includes completion of a medical
history, physical examination, questionnaires, and laboratory tests (review of existing reports
and running appropriate standard and advanced tests) to assess for:

  • Genetic predispositions (detoxification defects, methylation defects, etc)
  • Environmental exposures (heavy metals, chemicals, toxins, EMF/RF, etc)
  • Pathogens (viruses, bacteria, etc)
  • Hormone imbalances (adrenal, thyroid, etc)
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Physical and/or emotional trauma
  • Impaired oral health

Structured, advanced, and individualized treatment protocols for CCDs may include:

  • Vitamin and mineral supplementation
  • Intravenous nutrient therapy
  • Herbal/botanical medicine
  • Homeopathic remedies and other bioenergetic therapies
  • Acupuncture
  • Manual therapies

The goal is to enhance and restore quality of life to whatever degree may be possible given the
specific case. This is achieved through the use of non-invasive and advanced treatments to
manage symptoms while addressing the underlying causes of disease.
