Meet Dr. Yasmin Snippe, ND, RN
Naturopathic Doctor & Registered Nurse
Barrie, Ontario (In-Person & Virtual Across Ontario)
Hi, I’m Dr. Yasmin — a naturopathic doctor and registered nurse who believes health care should feel personal, practical, and rooted in real evidence. I bring together two lenses: the clinical rigour of nursing and the root-cause, whole-person approach of naturopathic medicine. Together, they shape how I care for your family.
My naturopathic practice is built around one simple idea: every person and every child deserves care that looks at the whole picture — not just the symptom in front of us.
My Path to This Work
As a Registered Nurse, I’ve spent years at the bedside. I worked in Labour & Delivery at SMMH in Bracebridge, supporting families through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I also spent time as a camp nurse, where I managed everything from scraped knees to homesickness to the occasional midnight fever — experience that gave me a deep comfort working with kids of every age and temperament.
I later ran a naturopathic walk-in clinic in Barrie, where I saw firsthand just how many childhood concerns families were navigating largely on their own — recurrent ear infections, stubborn eczema, constipation that wouldn’t budge, kids who lived on five foods, sleep that fell apart around bedtime. That experience is what shaped the practice I have today.
Children's Health: My Everyday Focus
A large part of my work now centres on children’s health — supporting kids (and the parents raising them) through the everyday and not-so-everyday concerns that come up in growing bodies. I work with families on:
- Eczema and skin concerns — getting to the root of flares, not just managing symptoms.
- Constipation and digestive upset — bloating, tummy aches, irregular bowel habits.
- Picky eating — building a healthier relationship with food without the mealtime battles.
- Sleep concerns — falling asleep, staying asleep, and the ripple effects on mood and behaviour.
- Anxiety and big emotions — gentle, evidence-informed support for kids who feel things intensely.
- ADHD and focus concerns — nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle strategies that support attention and regulation.
- Immune concerns and frequent infections — recurrent colds, ear infections, and a run-down immune system.
- Well Baby Visits — using the Rourke Baby Record as a guide to track growth and development from infancy on.
As both a nurse and a naturopathic doctor, I know when something needs closer monitoring, when a referral makes sense, and when natural, lifestyle-based approaches can make a meaningful difference. I work *with* your child’s care team, not around it.
Supporting Women, Too
While my practice has grown around children’s health, I still hold space for the women who trust me with their own care — particularly around hormone health and weight management.
I work with women who are:
- Exploring sustainable, non-restrictive approaches to weight and metabolic health.
- Considering GLP-1 medications and want an informed, judgment-free conversation about what to expect.
- Currently on a GLP-1 medication and looking for support with nutrition, muscle preservation, gut health, and lifestyle habits that help them feel their best while on treatment.
Whether you’re weighing your options or already on this path, my goal is to make sure your body is getting the nutrition, movement, and support it needs alongside your medical care — so the changes you’re making are sustainable long after the prescription ends.
How We Work Together
Care is available both in-person at Rooted Naturopathic Clinic in Barrie and virtually across Ontario, so families and women anywhere in the province can access support that fits their life.
Every relationship starts the same way: with a conversation.
I offer a free 15-minute Meet & Greet so we can talk about what’s going on, whether we’re a good fit, and what care could look like for you or your child — no pressure, no obligation.
