Now Recruiting: 10 Naturopathic Patients for Mistletoe Injection Therapy Trial for Osteoarthritis
If you’ve been living with joint pain due to osteoarthritis or degenerative spinal issues, there may be a new option to help you move more freely and comfortably. At our clinic, we’re offering a natural therapy that’s been used in Europe for over a century—and we’re currently seeking 10 local patients to participate in a short-term trial of mistletoe therapy for osteoarthritis.
What is Mistletoe Therapy?
Mistletoe has a long history of medicinal use, particularly in Europe where it’s been used since the 1920s as an injectable therapy for degenerative joint conditions. When injected locally into the skin surface of the affected joint, mistletoe helps improve circulation, reduce pain, support collagen production, and restore balance in the joint’s surrounding tissue matrix.
The protocol is short, natural, and well-tolerated by most patients.
Who is a Good Fit?
You may be eligible to participate in this trial if:
- You have chronic osteoarthritis in a joint (knee, hip, hand, spine, etc.)
- You’ve experienced cartilage loss or have degenerative disc or joint disease
- You’re looking for non-surgical, natural approaches to pain and stiffness
Who Should Not Participate?
This therapy is not suitable for people with active joint infections, autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, or those on immunosuppressive medications. It’s also not recommended for individuals with uncontrolled hyperthyroidism or those with known allergies to mistletoe.
What to Expect
The trial involves a series of local mistletoe injections over a short time frame of 6-8 weeks, guided by your symptoms and response. Patients often report reduced pain, improved movement, and greater ease in day-to-day activities.

Process of the Trial
- Send us a written referral from your ND, MD, NP, or DC
- If you don’t have a medical professional to refer you, complete an intake appointment with Dr. Liz Dalglish ND at Rooted. (Dr. Liz has a reduced cost day for 65+ on July 11, 2025)
- Pre-trial assessments of your pain, joint mobility etc
- Weekly injections for 6-8 weeks, $22 per injection.
- Complete post-trial assessments
