I came across a study that examined the effectiveness of Horse Chestnut in treating Varicocele-associated infertility in men.
While not as effective as surgery, it was still quite effective boasting a 55.7% improvement in sperm rate. This is compared to 77.1% with surgery and 46.2% in the control group.
Ultrasound showed that the men in the herbal group had improved disease severity from mild to moderate with the greatest improvement seen in men with moderate Varicoceles.
Maybe worth a go before going under the knife. I will note that this study was done over a period of two months – no instant changes here.
